Authorities investigating burglary, vehicle theft

Local authorities are investigating two unrelated incidents involving a burglary and vehicle theft that occurred on Friday.

According to reports, on Friday, Nov. 23, the Kennett Police Department received a report of a burglary at Floyd Court in Kennett.

The victim told officers that she had been away from the residence for a few days, and when she returned, it was discovered that some person or persons had entered the home unlawfully and vandalized the home.

Items in the home are reported to have been damaged as well as holes having been knocked into the walls.

The Kennett Police Department continues to investigate the incident.

Property in the apartment was not reported missing by the victim.

Also on Friday, at approximately 2:15 p.m., an individual reported that someone had stolen his black 1974 GMC Dump Truck from the Ken-Mo Agriculture parking lot, located on the North By-Pass in Kennett.

The individual stated that he had parked the dump truck, with a red dump bed, on the Ken-Mo lot on Thursday, Nov. 22, and left the keys in the truck.

Kennett Officers continue to investigate the reported theft.
