Fire Department names annual poster contest winners

Six third-grade students at South Elementary School were recently awarded prizes for being selected as the Kennett Fire Department's Fire Prevention Week poster contest winners.

Fire Marshall Scott Tutor, announced the winners of the poster contest at the school.

Walmart donated two BMX bicycles to be given away to one girl and one boy. The alternate winners won gift cards from Walmart

In the boy's division, Chase Rowton was chosen as the first place recipient, winning him a 20-inch BMX bike. Elijah Mayfield was chosen as the second place recipient, and J. Thomas William received third place.

In the girl's division, Rosa Sanchez was chosen as the first place recipient, winning her a 20-inch BMX bike. McKenzie Statler was chosen as the second place recipient, and Zora Brown received third place.

The Kennett Fire Department, in partnership with the local Walmart Supercenter, makes the fire prevention poster contest an annual event each year during fire prevention week.
