Two injured in Monday morning crash

HOLCOMB, Mo. ---- Two individuals were injured following a two vehicle crash near Holcomb, Monday morning.

According to R.L. Vannada with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at approximately 7:55 a.m., Regina Smith, 29 of Caruthersville, Mo., was driving north in a 2009 Dodge Caravan when she attempted to make a U-turn and struck Darrell Green, 46 of Kennett, who was also driving north, in a 2005 International Tractor Trailer.

Green did not report any injuries, Smith along with her 14 year-old passenger, also of Caruthersville, were treated for their injures and were taken by ambulance to Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett. Green suffered moderate injures, while her passenger suffered minor injuries.

The 2005 International Tractor Trailer was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene, while the 2009 Dodge Caravan was totaled and towed from the scene.

Both of the drivers were reported to have been wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.
