Kennett businesses host annual Christmas Open House

The annual Kennett Christmas Open House kicked off on Saturday, Nov. 10, taking place from 6 to 8 p.m., and will continue today, Sunday, Nov. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Businesses participating in the event include The Tulip Tree, Mitchell Pharmacy, the Polka Dot Rooster Boutique, McDaniel Firestone, All Seasons Flowers and Gifts, Byrd's Nest, Andy's Creations, South County Produce and Gifts, and Myra's Custom Framing.

The event is held annual to kick start the Christmas shopping season and help shoppers find great deals for their loved ones at local retailers.

The Tulip Tree is showing off a "wonderland" of decor, wreaths, swags, Santas, centerpieces, snowmen, angels, potpourri, candles and more.

The Polka Dot Rooster Boutique will have hourly door prizes, and will showcase jewelry, hairbows, purses, scarfs, T-shirts, fashion accessories, inspirational gifts and more.

All Seasons, which was open from 4-8 p.m., on Saturday only, was giving away free gifts as customers browsed Trapp candles, arrangements, ornaments, gift items, silks, and Wilton Armetate Silver.

The Byrd's Nest is offering hourly giveaways, and is showing off baby clothing and accessories, new and old jewelry, Sheryl Crow clothing, Trapp candles, handbags, glassware, and more.

Mitchell Pharmacy, which kicked its event off early on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m., will be open today, Sunday, Nov. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m., offering a special buy three ornaments get one free sale, and offers gift items ranging from Russell Stover candy, Woodwick candles, Christmas banners, Jewelry, cologne, home decor, and more, with free gift wrapping.

McDaniel Firestone is inviting the public to come see the wide variety of toys and novelty gift items.

Andy's Creations, which is offering door prizes, is showing off fresh and silk flowers, Willow Tree angels, plants, angels, blankets, wreaths, Yankee candles and more.

South County Produce is showcasing wind chimes, ornaments, dips, relish, soups, gourmet popcorn, cookbooks, votive candles, and more.

Myra's Custom Framing is selling Christmas box cards and decorations for half price, in addition to offering Willow Tree angels, ornaments, keepsake albums, inspiration gifts and more.
