Two separate arrests made in Kennett

According to the Kennett Police Department, on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at approximately 8:17 p.m., Kennett Police officers arrested 26-year-old Kennett man, at a residence on Highway EE in Kennett. While attempting to arrest the man, who had a parole violation warrant, he was reported to have resisted arrest by striking one of the officers, Brian Long, in the face.

The male was subdued and taken to the Dunklin County Justice Center.

Charges are pending with the Dunklin County Prosecutor's Office. A name has not been released at this time.

The Kennett Police Department also reported that on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at approximately 1:54 a.m., a 37-year old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and malicious property damage.

The man was arrested following an incident at the Oasis Bar, located on Independence Avenue, where Kennett Police were dispatched to investigate a report of a person driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer in the parking lot of the bar, and was driving the vehicle into a white 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck, parked in the parking lot.

When police arrived the suspect was gone and was later located at his residence on Venda Street. The man failed a field sobriety test which lead to his arrest for driving while intoxicated.

The investigation showed what the man had been escorted out of the facility because he was causing a disturbance inside of the bar. When leaving, he got into his trailblazer and rammed the vehicle into the passenger side of the truck. The suspect was also arrested for property damage, and was taken to the Dunklin County Justice Center.

Charges are pending with the Dunklin County Prosecutor's Office. A name has not been released at this time.
