John David Bishop, 65, of Campbell, Mo., passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at his residence.
Born Oct. 2, 1947, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of the late Sylvia Leon Bishop and Lucille Broom Bishop, he was a U. S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, and was retired from the Missouri National Guard. He retired from the United States Postal Service, worked at Rice Hardware for several years, served on the Campbell City Council for several years, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
On Dec. 15, 1971, in Campbell, he married Betty O'Neal.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Bishop, of Campbell; two sons, John Daniel Bishop and wife, Deana, and Justin David Bishop, all of Campbell; one daughter, Joanna Daniele Havice, of Springfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Ian Chapman, Josceline Bishop, John Daniel Bishop II, Jackson Bishop, Keela Havice, Rowan Havice and Duncan Havice, and a nephew, Michael Brees.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Campbell with Revs. Steve Bricker and Ken Franklin officiating.
Burial was in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell.
Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
