Sadie May Sappington Galyean, daughter of the late Walter Bon and Elsie May Winemiller Sappington, was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Lynchburg, Mo., and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Heritage Gardens of Senath.

On Dec. 22, 1938, in Kennett, she married Roy Dale Galyean, who preceded her in death in February of 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Galyean in infancy; four brothers, Ralph, Jewell, Fern and Henry Sappington, and a sister, Eula Sappington Spears.

Mrs. Galyean was a member of the Silverdale Baptist Church. She spent most of her life clearing and caring for the land, and she also enjoyed camping trips.

Survivors include one son, Travis Galyean and wife, Karen, of Leachville, Ark.; one grandson, Grant Galyean and wife, Tonya; one great-grandson, Garrett Galyean, of Hornersville, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at the First United Methodist Church in Senath, Mo.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Dunivan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Senath United Methodist Church or Lulu Cemetery.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath is in charge of arrangements.
