Hot Chili-Cool Cars winners announced

Several competitions were part of the festivities at this year's Hot Chili-Cool Cars, including the second photo contest hosted by the Delta News-Citizen and held during the annual event.

Winners for the Hot Chili-Cool Cars Photography Contest were: Funny Photo: First Place: Denton Kooyman; Second Place: Denton Kooyman; and Third Place: Erica Berry. Winners of the Portrait competition were: First Place: Todd Luke; Second Place: Hollie Davis and; Third Place: Ashley Morrow. In the Still Life contest, Chelsea Hart brought home first place, while Ann McDonald and Todd Luke earned second and third, respectively.

Prizes for the contest were donated by Donna's Flowers and Gifts, Malden Flower Shop, Bootheel Youth Museum, Harp's, Delta Blues Fish House, Le Hair Shoppe, Watson's Rib Rack, Hardee's and Rick's Hair World.

Contest judges were employees of Rust communications, the parent company of the Delta News- Citizen. No full- time employees of the Delta News- Citizen served as judges or were involved in any aspect of the judging. These judges have worked as photographers with Rust Communications.

First place winners in the tractor competition were: Georgia Wagoner of Malden and Delmar Causey of Piggott.

In the automobile- motorcycle contest, Dan Wishner of Marble Hill was awarded Best of Show with his 1934 Ford Roadster. People's Choice was given to Steve Mitchel of Malden for his 2012 Harley Davidson Trike. Other first place winners were: Gaylen Jackson from Illinois, Chris and Melissa Haines of Malden, Ken Ellis of Ellsinore, Logan Crowley of Dexter, Calvin and Norma Hartsfield of Malden, Ray and Darlene Hetherby of Wappapello, John Gutterman of Poplar Bluff, Gail Cookson of Puxico, Randy West of Poplar Bluff, Dennis Crader of Advance, Don Thompson of Rector, Ark., Floyd Ware of Whitewater, Mo. Guy Trug of Portageville, and Larry Duckworth of Risco.

Liberty Utilities of Malden won first place in the 2012 chili cook-off competition. First Community Bank won People's Choice.
