James Lasswell
James Charlie Lasswell, son of the late James Thomas Lasswell and Pauline Virginia Easley Lasswell, was born on Oct. 13, 1963, in Peoria, Ill., and departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 at the age of 49 years and 15 days at St. Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

James Charles was raised in Kennett and went to Kennett Schools. He worked and ran the Windmill Package Store. He loved to fish, hunt and loved southern rock and roll with a little bit of some blues. Charlie has always been the kinda guy to do anything to help anyone at any time if he possibly could. Charlie told me one time he had never been a rich man with lots of money, but that he felt like he had always been rich with friends and that is more important. He was a man that I have always had the honor to call my best friend. All week we have been praying for him to get better and not to be suffering. As I am still praying for this, I am now praying for his Aunt Penny and Beth who have not left him, know that my heart is with you all.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Jones of Kennett; two step-sons, Michael Vance and wife, Deanna, of Kennett, and Thomas Jones and wife, Roxann, of Bald Knob, Ark.; step-daughter, Laren Rowland of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, Dennis Lasswell of North Carolina; three sisters, Julene Lasswell of North Carolina, Judy Lasswell and Julie Lasswell, both of Pekin, Ill.; six step-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
