The Kennett Cup first began in 2007, as a golf tournament to help raise money for the Delta Children's Home. The first year 16 golfers participated raising $500. This year, the Kennett Cup Tournament had 88 golfers participating, raising the $12,000 donation, bring the tournament's six-year total to over $40,000 for the charity.
As for the bragging rights, the final scores for Sunday saw the gold team nudge out the black team with a score of 33 1/2 to 32 1/2, literally coming down to the last putt.

The Delta Children's Home is a privately ran organization and was established in the late 1960's. It operates two homes in Kennett and has been changing the lives of children in southeast Missouri for more than 40 years. Whenever children have no where else to turn, DCH provides a roof over their heads as well as a strong foundation on which to build new lives.
