HOLCOMB, Mo. -- The Holcomb School Board of Education met Thursday, October 11, 2012, for their regular monthly meeting, discussing what could be done regarding plans for district upkeep.

Following the board members approving the minutes from the previous meeting, and approving the monthly bills, Holcomb Superintendent, Ashley McMillian provided the board members with a priority list of needs for the district for building up keep. The board advised McMillian to move forward on the district seeking a "no tax increase bond issue, for the April 2013 ballot," according to McMillian.

The board also passed a motion to approve the request to join the Bootheel Conference, discussed in last months meeting. McMillian expects to find out if they have been accepted into the Conference in mid-November.

The board then approved the results of the 2011-2012 audit report, also hiring a list of substitute teachers, as well as accepting a bid from Jeremy Moore for bus No. 7, with a motion of 4-0, with one board member abstaining.

The board proceeded with approving the revisions to Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), which is revised every school year. The board members also made a motion to approve the assurance statement, "a statement from the district, stating that we have no policy that would be detrimental to a student or employee in regards to prayer," said McMillian.

In the executive session the board mad a motion to hire Joe Pikey, as a fill in bus driver.
