Walk the Walk, a free 10 week program to promote exercise and a healthy lifestyle will have its second session on Wednesday, October 17, at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall located at 300 St. Francis Street in Kennett, and the time is from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The final session will be on Wednesday, November 7. Participants will be able to track their walking throughout the ten-week program. Interested people may still register for the remainder of the program.
The sponsors of this program are AARP, University of Missouri Extension, Dunklin County Health Department, and the Pemiscot Initiative Network. The theme for this year's program is "Take Control of Your Health." The screenings available at no cost to the participants during the second session are Blood Pressure, Lung Pulmonary Function and CO2. During the second session, the wellness seminar will be "Strength training will keep you moving."
