Born in Heber Springs, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Richard Dick Waddle and Margie J. Howell Waddle. On October 6, 1930, in Hornersville, she was united in marriage to Luther Emerson Brown, who preceded her in death on January 29, 1981.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Opal Redus; three sons, Melvin Brown, Jerry Brown and Richard Truman; three grandchildren, Larry Redus, Bryan Butler and Sherry Brown, one great-grandchild, Skyler Bedwell and four sisters, Lonnie, Donnie, Beulah and Mabel.
Surviving are six daughters, Charlotte Clifton and husband, John, of Bloomsdale, Mo., Levedia Burke of Arnold, Mo., Carolyn Bedwell of Malden, Sandra Brown of Malden, Betty Cunningham and husband, Bill, of Wappapello and Sharon Butler and husband, Bob, of Poplar Bluff; five sons, Bobby Brown and wife, Melba, of Malden, Jimmy Brown and wife, Beth, of Festus, Gerald Brown and wife, Dorothy, of Lawton, Okla., Mike Brown and wife, Sharon, of Dexter and Ricky Brown of Malden; 38 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren and 49 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday, October 5, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 6, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Thomas Hargrove officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
