Jack Lemonds

Jack Lemonds, son of the late Cecil Lemonds and Genevia Huffstutler Lemonds, was born on July 18, 1934 in Kennett, and departed this life on October 7, 2012 at the age of 78 years two months and 19 days. Mr. Lemonds married Sue Markley on September 14, 1960 in Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2005.

Mr. Lemonds is survived by two sons, Lance Lemonds and wife Donna of Kennett, Brent Ready and Wife Sharon of Mason Ill.; two daughters, Julie Cupples and husband David of Kennett, and Tammy Matous of Walls, Miss. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Amanda Jackson, Malissa Lorton, Clint Ready, Laura Koester, Laura Roundtree, Kim Gobezynski, Matthew Gobezynski, Josh Lemonds, Coty Digges, Dustin Digges, Bailey Cupples, Taylor Matous, Cameron Matous and Sidney Matous; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Lemonds, of Kennett; one sister, Barbara Williams and husband Carl of Kennett; one sister-in-law, Becky Kelley and husband Jerry of Kennett; and other relatives and many friends.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Sue Lemonds, a brother David Lemonds, and a sister-in-law, Mavis Lemonds.

Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a 32nd Mason.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m., to 9 p.m., today, Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, with Mr. Tommy McDonald officiating.
