Funeral services for Jon B. Robinson, 85, of Kennett, will be Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Senath, with the Rev. Ron Dunavin officiating and the Rev. Jim Pemberton assisting. Burial will be in the Senath Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Mr. Robinson died on September 17, 2012 at NHC Healthcare in Kennett. He was born July 25, 1927 at Senath, to the late John B. and Winnie Robinson. He was of Methodist Faith, serving as a choir director, youth leader, and Sunday School teacher at the Senath United Methodist Church. Mr. Robinson also was a leader of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, was a coach for the Little League baseball team, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge with a 32 Degree Mason. On June 11, 1954, he was married to Betty Harkey.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Harkey, of Senath; one son, Russ Robinson, also of Senath; one sister, Virginia Drane of Houston, Texas; five nephews, two nieces, along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceeded in death by one brother, Billy Clay Robinson; and one sister, Margie Gessler.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett, is in charge of the arrangements.
