Kennett girls tennis team beats Charleston 9-0

CHARLESTON, Mo. - The Kennett Indians varsity girls tennis team defeated Charleston 9-0 Monday.

Kennett's record improves to 7-1 with the win. The Indians have a 5-0 record against teams in its district tournament.

Kennett won the junior varsity contest agaisnt Charleston 4-0 on Monday.

Kennett is back in action Tuesday when it travels to Caruthersville.Kennett will host Sikeston Thursday at 4 p.m.

Holcomb baseball team beats Risco 5-2

RISCO, Mo. - The Holcomb Hornets baseball team defeated the Risco Tigers 5-2 Monday afternoon.

The Hornets scored four runs in the first inning and tacked on an insurance run in the second frame.

Holcomb's Dustin Houart had two-RBI single in the first and Ryan Swain added a sacrifice fly.

Cameron Clark reached on a double in the second frame. Clark advanced to third on a stolen base and eventually crossed home plate on a passed ball.

Michael Glover pitched the first five inning for Holcomb. He was credited with a win on the mound. Clark picked up a six-out save.

Holcomb (8-3) will travel to Campbell Tuesday.


Kennett volleyball team defeats Twin Rivers in three sets

BROSELEY, Mo. - The Kennett Indians varsity volleyball team won its third straight game Monday when it defeated Twin Rivers 25-20, 16-25, 25-16.

Kennett defeated Twin Rivers 25-11, 25-17, in the junior varsity contest.

Kennett (9-7) will play at Holcomb Wednesday at 4 p.m.
