Kennett girls tennis team beats district rival Notre Dame 6-3

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Kennett varsity girls tennis team collected its second victory of the season against Notre Dame Tuesday afternoon.

Kennett, which beat Notre Dame 5-4 the first week of the season, won the varsity match 6-3 Tuesday.

Anna Kay Hilburn overcame a 6-0 deficit to win her varsity singles match 9-7. Kate White, Kelsey Washburn and Kara Heeb also won their varsity singles matches for Kennett. Washburn-White and Heeb-Alexa McPherson won their doubles matches.

Notre Dame won the junior varsity contest against Kennett 6-4.

Kennett (5-1) will host Poplar Bluff Thursday.
