Born September 15, 1943, in Malden, she was the daughter of the late James Hawkins and Myrtle (Duck) Hawkins. On February 12, 1972, in Clarkton, she was united in marriage to Richard Duffel, who preceded her in death on June 10, 2001. Later on January 22, 2005, in Clarkton, she was united in marriage to Norris Ray Epley, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one daughter, Christy Cook of Crawfordville, Fla.; five step-sons, Scott Epley of Ohio, David Versluis of Seattle, Wash., Shawn Epley of Paragould, Ark., Matthew Versluis of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jeffery Epley of Clarkton; four step-daughters, Sue Epley of New Jersey, Suzan Versluis of Grand Rapids, Elizabeth Versluis of Grand Rapids and Jodi Shrives of Paragould; two sisters, Julie Foster of Clarkton and Phyllis Williams of Clarkton; special niece, Barbara Johnson of Neelyville, 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five bothers, James Hawkins, John Poe, JD Hawkins, Bobby Hawkins, Robert Hawkins and two sisters, Margie Hawkins and Virginia Burrow.
Visitation was held Sunday, September 9, at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted Monday, September 10, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack Allen officiating. Burial was in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
