Bobby Edward King, 83, of Malden died Monday, September 3, 2012, at Dexter. He was a veteran having served in U.S. Army from 1952 - 1954 with extended tours during the Korean War. He was a retired Police Officer having worked for the Ann Arbor Police Department in Ann Arbor, Mich., and the Plano Police Department in Plano, Texas. His interest included automobiles, sports,, but most of all his daughters. He graduated from the Clarkton High School in 1947. He was of the Baptist faith.

Born November 12, 1928, in Malden, he was the son of the late Raymond Edward King and Opal (Cooper) King. On July 2, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., he was united in marriage to Betty Ann (Provance) King, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are three daughters, Nancy Knight and husband, Robert, of Poplar Bluff, Marilynn King of Columbia and Peggy Nenminger and husband, Kevin, of Warrenton, Mo.; one sister, Linda Kay Hodges of Clarkton; one niece, Leigh Gentry and husband, Philip, of Malden; two great-nieces, Kayla and Cassidy Gentry of Malden; one brother-in-law, W. F. (Buck) Provance and wife, Liz, of Malden, three sister-in-laws, Margaret McFarland and husband, Jerry, of Melbourne, Ark., Gail Baier and husband, Norman, of Chelsea, Mich., and Barbara Tallarico and husband, Robert, of Grand Junction, Colo., and other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, September 5, from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel with Reverend James Hamlett officiating. Burial will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield. Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
