Kenneth Dwain Pemberton, 68, of Malden died Monday, July 23, 2012, at St. Louis. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a coal miner.

Born in Tate, Ill., on October 8, 1943, he was the son of the late James Carl Pemberton and Alta Irene (Lamkin) Pemberton. On December 4, 2008, in Piggott, he was united in marriage to Brenda Stone, who survives of the home.

Also survivng are one sister, Trula Duane of Virginia; one step-son, Randy Tate and wife, Carolyn, of Gideon, six step-daughters, Tammi Tate of Tamm, Ill., Amy Schuhardt and husband, Rich of Shiloh, Ill., Audrey Poole and husband, Mike, of St. Louis, Judy Stacy and husband, Keith, of Poplar Bluff, Amanda Walker of Wiwoka, Okla., and Donna Walker of Campbell and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Austin Pemberton.

Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
