Maxine McMahon, 97, of Clarkton died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her residence in Clarkton. She was a teacher for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Christian Church in Clarkton and was the organist for many years.
Born on February 12, 1915, in Marbel Hill, MO., she was the daughter of the late A.R. Pierce and Ida Mae Nanny Pierce. On December 20, 1935, in Clarkton, she was united in marriage to Max Marion McMahon, who preceded her in death on June 11, 1972.
In addition to her husband and parents. she was preceded in death by one brother, Norman pierce; sister-in-law, Chris Pierce; step-mother, Bertha Pierce, mother-in-law, Leilah McMahon and daughter-in-law, Pat mammalian.
Survivors include, one daughter, Mary Ann Gore and husband, Phil, of Centralia, Kan.; two sons, David McMahon of Fredricktown, Mo., and Don McMahon and wife, Dana, of Springfield, Mo., eight grandchildren, Lisa Schmitz, Jeff Gore, Ken McMahon, Kevin McMahon, Keith McMahon, Kerry McMahon, Crystal Strong and Justin McMahon and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9 am to 10:30 am today, Wednesday, June 27, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Williams and Mr. Philip Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery at Cape Girardeau. Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Clarkton.
