Robert Warren Lane, 91, of Bryant, Ark., formerly of Kennett, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at his home.

Born April 2, 1921, in Kennett, son of the late Albert and Myrtle Wilkerson Lane, he was a career Naval officer, having spent 30 years in active duty, retiring as lieutenant commander in 1969. He was a 1939 graduate of Kennett High School.

On July 18, 1945, in Norfolk, Va., he married Mora Ethel Husband, who preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jerris Lane O'Bryan; a great-grandson, Owen Marshall Hicks, and a great-great-granddaughter, Brianna Nicole Johnson.

Survivors include one step-son, Earl Husband and wife, Patti, of Odessa, Texas; a step-daughter, Wini Husband Hicks and husband, Bob, of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; two grandsons, Jon Husband and wife, Helen, of Odessa, and Warren Hicks and wife, Lisa, of Bartlett, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Kim Husband Cain, of Crane, Texas, and Cassie Hicks Riley and husband, John, of Austin, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren, Joshua Harmon and wife, Brandi, of Manila, Ark., Sara Riley Dennis and husband, Zack, of Crossville, Tenn., Rachel Riley Sanders and Katie Hicks, both of Memphis, Tenn., Devin Hicks, of Shelbyville, Ky., Lindsey Flaming Mitchell and husband, Brandon, of Topeka, Kan., Danielle and Molly Cain, both of Midland, Texas, Meredith and Emily Cain, of Crane, and Sam Husband, of Odessa, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, Leah Grace Constant, of Topeka, Taylor and Austin Harmon, both of Manila, Cameron Johnson, of Horn Lake, Miss., Michael McInturff, of Crossville, Jalen McInturff, Jordyn and Jon Sanders, and Clinton and Cobey Johnson, all of Memphis.

No visitation is planned. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 7, in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett, with Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
