Maxine McMahon, 97, of Clarkton, Mo., passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her residence.
Born Feb. 12, 1915, in Marble Hill, Mo., daughter of the late A.R. Pierce and Ida Mae Nanny Pierce, she was a teacher for many years, a member of the First Presbyterian Christian Church in Clarkton, and was the organist for many years.
On Dec. 20, 1935, in Clarkton, she married Max Marion McMahon, who preceded her in death on June 11, 1972. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Norman Pierce; a sister-in-law, Chris Pierce; step-mother, Bertha Pierce; her mother-in-law, Leilah McMahon, and a daughter-in-law, Pat McMahon.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Gore and husband, Phil, of Centralia, Kan.; two sons, David McMahon, of Fredricktown, Mo., and Don McMahon and wife, Dana, of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Lisa Schmitz, Jeff Gore, Ken McMahon, Kevin McMahon, Keith McMahon, Kerry McMahon, Crystal Strong and Justin McMahon, and 18 great-children.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Williams and Philip Harrison officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery at Cape Girardeau, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Clarkton.
