Murle Lee Byrd, 81, of Risco, died Wednesday, June 11, 2012, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was a member of the Pleasantview General Baptist Church in Risco.
Born on July 12, 1930, in Holcomb, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Green and Ada Stacy Green. On February 8, 1950, in Malden, she was united in marriage to Charles Roland Byrd, who still survies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Anson and Ralph Green; two sisters, Alfreda Meyers and Betty Cook; one half-sister Becky Umslet; one half-brother Alfred Green Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Roland Byrd of Risco; two sons, Daniel Byrd and wife Donna of Sikeston, Keith Byrd and wife Tammie of Dexter; one brother Rev. Hugh Clayton Green of St. Louis; one sister Mary Jane Duncan of Canfield, Ohio; two half-sisters Barbara Wilfong of Advance and Glenda McCulley of Imperial; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 13, 11:00 a.m. at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services followed immediately in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Powell officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Pleasantview General Baptist Church in Risco.
