Joseph Benjamin Brocchus, 87, of Kennett, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Jonesboro, Ark. Formerly of Tulsa, Okla., he lived in Kennett since 2011.
Born at Fort Smith, Ark., he was a son of J. Benjamin and Ruth E. Hanesworth Brocchus. He was married to the former Frankeleen Seely, who preceded him in death in 1987.
During World War II, he was a radio operator in the Merchant Marines. He had a 40-year career with Mobil Oil as a radio operator on oil tankers. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kennett.
Mr. Brocchus is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Will Mobley, of Kennett; his son, Frank Brocchus, of Tulsa, Okla., and his grandson, Joe Mobley, of Kennett.
Burial will take place in Tulsa today, Wednesday, June 13.
A simple memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Kennett at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 16. The service will be conducted by Missy Rose, stated supply at First Presbyterian Church.
