Mary Lou Watson, 82, of Kennett, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Homeward Bound Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born July 28, 1929, in Flushing, Mich., a daughter of the late Ovie David and Bessie Delores Ford. She was a graduate of the Kennett High School where she was exceptionally active as a cheerleader throughout her high school career.
On Jan. 19, 1952, Mary Lou was united in marriage to John Raymond Watson, in Piggott, Ark.
Mary Lou worked in the family food business and as a homemaker. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Kennett.
She was an avid member of the Ladies Golf Association and loved the game. Mary Lou also enjoyed the horse races, MU football, and Cardinal baseball. But most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou Watson is survived by her husband, John R. Watson, of Kennett; two daughters, Ramah Lou Langston and husband, Danny, and Myra Lynn Callahan and husband, Eddie, of Kennett; one son, John R. Watson, Jr. and wife, Julie, of Jefferson City, Mo.; five granddaughters, Catina Lynn O'Leary and husband, Matt, of St. Louis, Mo., Lisa Lee Brooks, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Hope, Haley, and Hanna Watson, of Jefferson City, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Alisea and Bailey Brooks of Poplar Bluff, and Evan and Nicholas O'Leary, of St. Louis; two brothers, Billy Joe Ford and Kenneth Ford, of Kennett, and one sister, Barbara Ann Presson, of Kennett.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 11, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Tim Davis officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Danny Langston, Eddie Callahan, Matt O'Leary, Matt Shetley, Patrick McHaney and Kenney Ford.
