Roy T. Hon, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII- Pacific Theater. He was a retired teacher, coach and adminstrator. He held a Masters Degree from Old Miss and a BS from Arkansas State. He was affiliated with First Baptist Church in Risco.

Born in Parma on March 6, 1926, he was the son of the late Lawrence L. Hon and Alma (Warren) Hon. On March 13, 1944, in New Madrid, he was united in marraige to Marcella Johnson, who survives of the home in Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are one son, Chris Hon and wife, Barbie, of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Kay Kimes and husband, Daniel of New Madrid, and Phyllis Swiney and husband, Doyle, of Fulton, one sister, Joyce Hook of McLeansboro, Ill., and six grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elma Loys Parks.

Burial with Military Rites was held on Monday, June 4, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. Lonnie Mittag officiating. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.

Family suggest memorials be made to Poplar Bluff School Foundation and Risco Alumni Association.
