R.V. Wilson, 83, of Campbell died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
Born in Wardell on April 19, 1928, he was the son of the late J.B. Wilson and Etta (Elliott) Wilson. On June 14, 1947 in Piggott, he was united in marriage to Mavis Simpson, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are one son, Vernon Wilson and wife, Pat, of Campbell; three daughters, Patricia Morris and husband, Ed, of Piggott, Terri Lefler and husband, Jerry, of Malden and Jeannie Higgins and husband, Larry, of Campbell; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Edith Balentine of Steele.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, A.J. Wilson, Jewel Wilson and Gene Wilson and one sister, B. Smith.
Visitation was held Friday, April 20, at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. Funeral services followed immediately in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Dean Williams officiating. Burial was in Elder Cemetery at Campbell. Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
