George D. Ellsworth, 68, of Malden died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at his residence in Malden. He was in the Missouri National Guard. He served as an officer and a member of the American Legion Post #263. He was retired from Federal Mogul in Malden on January 13, 2006, after 21 years of service and he was of the Baptist faith. Born in Malden on September 5, 1943, he was the son of late George E. Ellsworth and Opal V. (Gidcumb) Ellsworth. On June 15, 1962, in Malden, he was united in marriage to Mariea Ann Stanley Ellsworth, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Ellsworth, LT SC US Navy, Millington, Tenn., and Elana Dale Ison and husband, Robert, of Malden; two grandsons, Trevor Ison and Tyler Ison of Malden, one sister, Bonnie Akridge of Campbell and four brothers, Edmond Ellsworth of Malden, Morris Ellsworth of Malden, Buford Ellsworth of St. Louis and Robert Ellsworth of Granite City, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Opal Ellsworth, one brother, James E. Ellsworth, and two sisters, Clara Mae Little and Evelyn "Widge" Ellsworth.

Visitation was held Monday, April 16, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 17, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jared Owens officiating. Landess Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
