Donald Ray Carson, 64, of Kennett, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at his residence.

Born April 5, 1948, in Kennett, son of the late Raymond and Ann Carson, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam, and a member of the Hope and Glory Church in Kennett.

On April 28, 1968, in Paragould, Ark., he married Bessie Maxwell.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Carson, of Kennett; one son, Donald Ray Carson, Jr., of Kennett; two daughters, Ann Bost, of Senath, Mo., and April McBride, of Blytheville, Ark.; two sisters, Opal Pitts, of Hornersville, Mo., and Alice Faye Moles, of Kennett; four grandchildren, Jesse McCracken, Joey Bost, Jr., LaTasha McBride and Maegan McBride, and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Carson; one granddaughter, Samantha Bost and brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, at the Hope and Glory Church in Kennett.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo., with Rev. Lee Weeks and Bishop Willie Johnson officiating.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
