Vera Mae Bishop, daughter of the late Leland and Wilma Jackson Burgess, was born April 5, 1943, in St. Joseph, Mo., and passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark., at the age of 68.
On Jan. 9, 2006, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Jerry Bishop.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Bishop, of Cardwell, Mo.; one son, Tony Foster and wife, Jennifer, of Round Beach, Ill.; two daughters, Traci Walls and husband, Rick, of Paragould and Tina Harper and husband, Brian, of Bonne Terre, Mo.; one brother, Joe Burgess, of Rector, Ark.; seven sisters, Polly Lewis, of Aurora, Ill., Kathy Blankenship, of Paragould, Donna Burns and Jo Ann Austin, both of Hornersville, Mo., Vicki Burgess, of Imboden, Ark., Brenda Priest, of Arbyrd, Mo., and Patsy Erlander, of Compti, La.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Burgess, Jerry Don Burgess and Junior Burgess, and one sister, Mary Nell Burgess.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Tuesday, April 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with Rev. Raymond Brentt officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cardwell Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mark Burgess, Robert Burgess, Barry Mansfield, Tommy Joe Burgess, Trenton Burgess, Joseph Burgess, Brian Lewis, Jon Lewis and Jeremy Lewis.
