Billy Ralph Wells was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Kennett and departed this life on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the age of 89.
He is survived by his loving wife, Zelma Davis, who he was married to for 70 years. They have resided in Plano, Texas for the past 23 years.
Bill enjoyed playing golf with his friend for many years and being a Mason and a Shriner. He worked for the state and federal government for over 30 years In his later retired life, he loved writing stories of his past for his children and grandchildren and loved doing research on the computer tracing his genealogy. He loved the family reunions that he attended every two years.
Family was his most important treasure in his life and he is survived by his son, Bill Wells and wife, Amy, of Fairview, Texas, and his daughter, Linda Hunter and husband, C.E., of Austin, Texas. He was blessed with five grandchildren whom he adored, Cindy McCasland, Crystal Durant, Rafe Wells, Tammy Daerr and Michael Redmond and also 10 great-grandchildren. He has two brothers, Sam Watson, of Kennett and Don Watson, of Holcomb and one sister, Veneda Slicer, of Hollister, Mo.
Bill was always kind to everyone he met and will be greatly missed.
