Rice Moss Jr., "J.R.", "Jim", passed away in his home Sunday, March 18, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Moss was born July 18, 1929, in Macon County, Tenn., to the late Ella and DeRice Moss. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 362 in Hornersville, Mo. He served his country during WWII and was stationed in Germany.

He and his two sons started Moss Electric Company in 1978 which is still family owned and operated in Hornersville.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jean Hardin Moss; two sons, Donald Moss and wife, Teresa, of Hornersville and David Moss and wife, Stacey, of Hornersville; three daughters, Deborah Dainis, of Hornersville, Kimberly Fuller and husband, John, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Teresa Kurbatoff and husband, Greg, of Jackson, Mo.; five grandchildren, Tracy Dainis, Kristina Fry and husband, Nickie, Cynthia Brown, Bradley Moss and wife, Kayla, and Halle Moss; eight great-grandchildren, Samantha Brown and husband, Timothy, Deborah Palma, Israel Palma, Gavin and Logan Fry, Abigail and Andrew Brown, and Brody Moss; four great-great-grandchildren, Aaden and Camdyn Palma, Jillian Brown and Jaiden Palma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, James, Woodard, and Bill Moss and Virgil Creasy, and one son-in-law, John Dainis.

The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, at the American Legion Post 362 in Hornersville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 22, at the First Baptist Church in Hornersville, with Rev. Paul Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Horner Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service in Manila, Ark.
