On April 18, 1993, in Kennett, he married Rita Hall.
Bill attended the Rolla, Mo. school system, served in the United States Navy for 6 years, was employed by United Telephone Co for 22 years, by Contel Telephone Company for 3 years, G.T.E. Telephone 3 years, and B.P.S Telephone for 2 years in Steele, Mo. He completed his telephone career by contracting for all of the top name telephone companies in the United States at the age of 62. He was a Master Mason, 32nd Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Orr, of Kennett; two sons, Mark W. Orr, of California and Thomas Scott, of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Shannon J. Orr, of California; two grandsons; one sister, Connie A. Kays, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one nephew, Michael Brooks, of Poplar Bluff, and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 17, in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Scott Tutor, Bill Hook, Jack Crawford, Steve Williams, Danny Langston and Lance Davis.
Honorary pallbearers are Sherrill Floyd, Bob Bolding, Sol Astrachan, and Bobby Teal.
