He was born Sept. 27, 1926, in Piggott, Ark., to Earl and Beatrice Chamberlain.
Many may know him as "Son" Chamberlain. He served in the Navy during World War II. Following his military service, he worked in the truck line industry for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Rita Ashworth and Earline Lipsey.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Chamberlain, of Converse; daughter, Patricia Achors, of St. Louis, Mo.; son, Randall Chamberlain, of St. Charles, Mo.; daughter, Jeannie Smith and husband, Rick, of San Antonio, Texas; son, Robert Chamberlain, of San Antonio; son, Gerald Chamberlain and wife Jeanette, of Carrier Mills, Ill.; grandchildren, Melissa Arispe, Shane Chamberlain, Erica Smith, Tabitha Chamberlain, Jessica Chamberlain and Courtney Chamberlain; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Ricky Smith; sisters, Loretta Chamberlain, Betty Shelton, Joanne Beisner and Martha Morgan and brother, Bill Chamberlain.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, March 12, at Porter Loring Mortuary North in San Antonio.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Monday, March 12, at Porter Loring North Chapel.
Burial with military honors will follow in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
