Prue Bowie, daughter of the late Marcus P. West and Armentie Curtis West, was born March 18, 1922, in Bellville, Ark., and departed this life Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 28 days.
Prue married Arvil "Hoss" Bowie March 14, 1942, in Kennett. Hoss preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2005. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vestal West and James West, and a son-in -law Royce "Bud" Graves.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Graves, of Gobler, Mo., Sandra Gable and her husband, Robert, of Philadelphia, Penn., and Gay Lynn Herrington, of Kennett; three grandchildren, Heidi Lynn Gable, of Philadelphia, Marcus Graves, of Gobler and Amy Lynn Herrington, of Jonesboro, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Christian Graves, of Gobler and Macy Lynn Gleisner, of Philadelphia; one sister, Vera Harkey, of Bellville, Ark., and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. E. Crews officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Clem Peters, Bradley Peters, Ben Bowie, Ian Roberts, Jerry Williams, Larry Payne, Sonny Wimberly, Royce Allen and Bobby Tomlison.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Gable, Marty Herrington, Harold Wimberly, William Forrest, George Wayne Allen, Alton Payne, Mason Cook, Johnny Cook and Delan Young.
