Clifton Leroy Stracener, son of the late Michael Rutledge Stracener and Annabelle Greer Stracener, was born Sept. 1, 1929 in Conway, Ark., and departed this life Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 1 day.
Clifton married Flordra Marrow on Nov. 27, 1946, in Kennett. She preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 2008. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Carl Lee and David Stracener; one daughter, GedLee Stracener; three brothers,: Julian, Thomas and Earl Stracener and a sister, Mable Vavak.
His survivors include two sons, Leroy Stracener and wife, Beverly, of Kennett and Tommy Stracener, of Kennett; five daughters, Clair Cates and husband, Oather, of Deering, Mo., Betty Robinson of Huntingdon, Tenn., Genevieve Tucker and husband, Mike, of Huntingdon, Bonnie Emory and husband, Danny, of Bragg City, Mo., and Carol Henfling and husband, Mike, of Kennett; two sisters, Emma Townsend, of Conway and Mary Ogden, of Clarkton, Mo., 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Don Slatton officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Jimmie Glass, Brandon Curlin, Eddie Marrow, Shawn Garner, Chester Smothers and Zachary Chitester.
Honorary pallbearers were Tracey Bridges and James Stacy.
