Ava "Jerry" Geraldine Harwell, daughter of the late Joseph Boram Ford and Mary Jane Robinson Ford was born on Oct. 10, 1930, at Johnson's Island, Mo., and departed this life Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 16 days.

Jerry married Buddy Joe Harwell on Jan. 12, 1952. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1984. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bufford, Ovey, J.B., Ernest, and Earmol Ford and two sisters, Jewell Stafford and Pauline McMullin.

Jerry was a member of Southwestern Bell Pioneers and worked as a telephone operator for over 32 years. She was a member of Calvary Temple Church of Sikeston.

Survivors include one son, Michael Joe Harwell Sr., and wife, Patti, of Paragould, Ark.; one daughter, Sheila Dianne Brase and husband Terry, of Sikeston, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jimmy and Leane Parrish, of Marmaduke, Ark., Burt and Nicole Lee, of Lafe, Ark., Michael J. Harwell, Jr., of Paragould, Ark., and Josh Brase and Ben Brase, of Sikeston, Mo.; nine great-grandchildren, Jessica, Laura, and Kara Lee, Dustin Parrish, Ethan, Abigail, and Makenna Harwell, and Lauren and Austin Brase; one sister, Irene Smith, of Kennett, and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Pastor Greg Forester officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are Josh Brase, Ben Brase, Eric Smith, Charles Isbel, Michael J. Harwell, Jr., and Burt Lee.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Parrish and Randy Stafford.
