Born Feb. 16, 1926, in Clarkton, daughter of the late Charles B. James and Irene Davidson James, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarkton.
On July 3, 1953, in Los Angeles, Calif., she married Lew Maddox, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Maddox; a brother, Smokey James and a sister, Dorothy Brandon.
Survivors include one daughter, LuAnn Jeffries and husband, Jerry, of Naylor, Mo.; one son, James Kendal Maddox, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one step-daughter, Jeanne Bailey and husband, Phillip, of Hot Springs, Ark.; her grandchildren, Jason Maddox and Andi, of Malden, Mo., Jeremy Maddox, of Clarkton, Cassidy Maddox, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Amy Maddox, of Malden, Tyler Layne and Amanda, of Malden, Doug Bailey and Lisa, of Benton, Ark., and Julie Barker and Jamie, of Russellville, Ark., and great-grandchildren, Patrick Maddox, Carter Maddox, Deven Donley, Logen Donley, Kasen Donley, Dru Maddox, Anna Layne, Megan Bailey, Jacob Barker and Joel Barker.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Paul Williams and Tom Bass officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
