Matthew Isaac Brown, 7, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012.
He was born on June 2, 2004, in Kennett, and is the son of Isaac and Elisha Logsdon Brown.
Matthew was a 2nd grader at Piggott Elementary School and attended Living Word Tabernacle. He was an Honorary Arkansas State Police Colonel of Troop C. Matthew battled Cancer for nine months and stayed strong throughout the fight. Even during his illness, Matthew was always smiling.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Leonard and Helen Gross.
Survivors include his parents, Isaac and Elisha Brown; sisters, Natalie, Kaitlyn, and Adalyn Brown; maternal grandparents, John and Debbie Logsdon of Piggott; paternal grandparents, Larry and Rose Brown, of Arizona; great-grandparents, Paul and Linda Baud, of Illinois; great-grandmother, Viola Skidmore, of Tennessee, and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., today, Wednesday, Jan. 25, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott with Bill Ivy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Piggott Cemetery.
