Billy Burdin, 74, of Rector, Ark., passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at The Med in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Aug. 4, 1937, to Archie and Goldie Arnold Burdin, he enjoyed working on old cars and trucks.
Preceding Billy in death was his father, Archie Burdin; two grandchildren, Taylor Shay Burdin and Aubrey Elizabeth Burdin; two brothers, Jackie Burdin and Roger Dale Burdin and a sister, Mary Jane Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Banks Burdin; his mother, Goldie Arnold, of Kennett; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Walter Wayne Burdin and Stephanie, of Oak Grove, and Scotty Lee Burdin and Darla, of Paragould, Ark.; six daughters, Candy Mitchell, of Rector, Darlene Bailey, of Hayti, Mo., Debbie Howe, of Kennett, Sue Regear, of Kennett, Billie Minyard, of Blytheville, Ark., and Brenda Williams of Blytheville; five grandchildren, Dustin Smith, Kyle Burdin, Lacie Mitchell, Destiny Burdin and Austin Burdin, along with numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Ricky Burdin, of Kennett and a sister, Carolyn Hunter, of Kennett.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Irby Funeral Home in Rector.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
