MALDEN, Mo.-- Police have arrested two local men in connection with outstanding drug-related warrants, and successfully placed both individuals in custody to appear in Dunklin County Circuit Court on felony charges filed against them.
Detri M. Reed and Kameo L. Porter, both of Malden, are expected to appear in court before Judge John C. Spielman on Friday, according to the Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, which verified that an outstanding arrest warrant was in place against Reed for one count of trafficking drugs in the first degree and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Court records also specify that Porter was wanted for previous felony charges that included one count of distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
Malden police say in a report regarding the men's arrest that when Porter was being taken into custody, investigators located and seized a substantial amount of cocaine in his possession, which resulted in the filing of new, additional charges. The prosecutor's office confirmed this, noting that the new charges include possession with intent to distribute cocaine, a controlled substance.
As a result of the arrests, Reed was issued a $150,000 cash-only bond, and a $75,000 cash-only bond amount was authorized against Porter.
In addition to the efforts of Malden Police, the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department, SEMO Drug Task Force and the Missouri Highway Patrol's DDCC Unit assisted in making the arrests possible.
Additional details regarding the case will be published following the scheduled court date on Friday.
