Norvell M. "Bill" Beck, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Campbell, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born Oct. 23, 1931, in Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Norvell Beck and Mary Killingsworth, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was a teacher, a coach, and he attended the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Poplar Bluff.

In July of 1951, he married Joyce Sanders, who preceded him in death on March 12, 2011. He was also preceded in death by a son, Scotty Beck.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Steve Niederkorn, of Poplar Bluff; one son, Michael Beck, of Poplar Bluff; one grandson, Scott Beck, of Texas; one granddaughter, Lorie Veazey, of Searcy, Ark., and two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Maggie Veazey, both of Searcy.

Graveside services with military rites will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett with Rev. Annette Joseph officiating.

Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett is in charge of arrangements.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
