Flora McCoy French, age 101, of Fountain Lake, Ark., formerly of Kennett and Osceola, Ark., passed away Monday morning, Dec. 19, 2011. She was born on the McCoy farm in Fritz, Ark. (near Rector) to Gertie Craig and Jasper Newton McCoy. She had four sisters, one brother, five half sisters and two half brothers. Flora is survived by one sister, Garnetta Locke and husband, Gordon, of Pangburn, Ark.
Flora and Leroy were married for 71 years before his death in 2001. She was preceded in death by their sons, Bill, Gordon and Zack French and daughter, Floella French Boone.
Flora is survived by one son, George French and wife, Jeannie, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and one son-in-law, Ron Boone, of Pangburn, Ark.
She leaves 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces.
The French family managed the Kennett and Osceola Country Clubs for many years.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., at McDaniel Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector, Ark.
