Herman Edward Evans, son of the late William Thomas Evans and Altie Hudson Evans was born n March 3, 1936, in Hornersville, Mo., and departed this life Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 15 days.

Herman married Doris Lassiter on Sept. 21, 1960.

He was of Kennett, served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958 and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Evans, of Kennett; two sons, Rocky Evans and wife, Kim, of Jefferson City, Mo., and Robbie Evans, of Lancaster, Penn.; one special granddaughter, Morgan Leigh Evans; three sisters, Dorothy Taylor, of Rogers, Ark., Anna Mae Cato, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Pauline Tripp and husband, Garland, of Kansas City, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William "Bill" Evans; three sisters, Gladys McGowen, Ruby Hyde, Ruth Schanda and Francis Evans.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Gene Lancaster and Bro. Johnny Bogle officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Masterson, Bill Martin, Leonard Boggs, Jim Kilburn, Jerry Poole and Gaylon Mullins.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Friendship Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class, Billy Paul Hogan, Paul Hutchison and Dewan Lemonds.
