Born in Kennett on May 1, 1919, son of the late Harrison and Maude Chailland Cannon, he was retired from the motel business, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rector. Mr. Cannon was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and earned bronze stars for the Tunisian, Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno campaigns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Everett Cannon and Glenn Cannon and a sister, Betha Hamlin.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 21, in Christ Chapel of Owensboro Memorial Gardens with Rev. Allen Shouse officiating followed by burial in the Field of Honor with military honors provided by the Ft. Campbell Honor Guard and VFW Post 696.
