Wayne Springer, 93, of Hornersville, Mo., passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at National HealthCare in Kennett.
Born Aug.3, 1918, in Mississippi County, Ark., he was the son of the late Ernest Boyd Springer and Ollie Skinner Springer.
He was married to Helen Dillon who preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 1981. He then married Alean Hackworth on Nov. 27, 1984, in Paragould, Ark. She preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 2005. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Stephen Springer.
Mr. Springer served in the Navy and was a member of the Church of God Prophecy in Manila, Ark.
He is survived by one son, Larry Springer and wife, Audrey, of Hornersville; one daughter, Vicky Rowe, of Paragould; four grandchildren, Eva and husband, Greg, Ashley and husband Steven, Casey and Brandon; six great-grandchildren, Dallas, Winter, Addie, Rylie, Beckham, and Garrett and one great-great-grandchild, Liam.
Visitation will be at 2 p.m., until service time Sunday, Dec. 11, at Hornersville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 11 at Hornersville Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Haley officiating.
Burial will be in Horner Cemetery in Hornersville.
