He was married to Pauline Verlie Weaver on July 31, 1942. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2004. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, most recently Tony Lynn Davis; one great-grandchild; three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Gillette served in the U.S. Army, having served in WWII, and was a farmer.
His survivors are two sons, Phillip Ray Gillette and wife, Susan, of Little Rock, Ark., and Gregory Wayne Gillette and wife, Teresa Kay, of Rives, Mo.; three daughters, Paulette Jean Fullerton and husband, Russ, of Searcy, Ark., Connie Davis and husband, Tommie, of Rives, and Beverly Jane Greene and husband, David, of Jackson, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Shatwell and Ruby Marchel, both of Emmitt, Calif., and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Johnny Hester officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Gillette, Shane Fullerton, Michael Greene, Bryan Gillette, T. J. Davis and Nick Gillette.
