Donald Ray Johnson, 85, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at the Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Piggott, and was the son of the late Rossie Loton and Mary Belle Vaughn Johnson.
He was united in marriage to June Stewart on Dec. 26, 1952. To this union two children were born. June preceded him in death on January 6, 2000.
He is survived by one son, Barry Johnson and wife, Vicky, of Piggott; one daughter, Raye Lynn Haywood and husband, Charlie, of Kennett; four grandchildren, Aaron Johnson of Piggott, Amanda Jones and husband, Jake, of Conway, Ark., Jennings Ray "J.R." Haywood and Jakeb Charles "Jake" Haywood, both of Kennett; one great-grandson, Clay Madden Jones; two brothers, Bob Johnson and Darrel Johnson, both of Piggott, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Kevin Murray officiating.
Burial will be follow in the Piggott Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Coyle, Brent Coomer, Sam Poole, Jimmy Johnson, Randy Caldwell and Mark Moore.
