Ella Price
Ella Alleen Vessell Price, daughter of the late Valentine Bunker Vessell and Alpha B. Reed Vessell, was born March 16, 1918, in Charleston, Mo., and departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 24 days.

Ella married Paul Wallace Price at 10 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3, 1937, by Rev. J.E. Brown, former pastor of Kennett First Baptist Church. Paul preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Ann Price Ford and husband, Everett James Ford, Jr., of Germantown, Tenn., and Sharon Alleen Price Naughton, of Kennett; six grandchildren, Paula D. Massey & husband, Kevin, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Pamela L. Neri and husband, Vince, of Collierville, Tenn., Scott A. Ford and wife, Michelle, of Hernando, Miss., B. Keath Ford and wife, Teresa, of Lakeland, Tenn., Emma A. Naughton Price, of Paducah, Ky., and Becky A Naughton Wright and husband, David of Bedford, Ind.; 11 great-grandchildren, Amanda Armour Marsh and husband, Mark, Alex Massey, Ashlyn Massey, Joshua Ford, Jacob Ford, Sarah Ford, Conner Price Ford, Zachary Brendon Ford, Ethan Chase Ford, Spenser B. Price, and Matthew J. Price; three great-great grandchildren, Channing Grace Marsh, Addi Ford and Eden Ford; two nephews, Tommy Price of Kennett, and Charles Price and wife Faye of Hillsboro, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Vessell, Ray Vessell, Roy Vessell, and Cletus Vessell and one sister, Inez Vessell Potts

She became a member of Kennett First Baptist Church on May 1, 1938. She served in the Beginner Department, Nursery, Choir, Flower Committee, Bereavement Committee, and Women's Missionary Society. In 1948, Ella became a charter member of the Azalea Garden Club which is part of the Missouri Federation of Garden Clubs. She also served as chairman of the Delta Fair Art Show, and chairman of the Rose Show that was initiated by Brydon Ross.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers will be John Tant, Don Berry, Bill Hook, Tommy Price, Charles Price and Jim Toombs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Ford, Glen Leach and Ronnie Brogden.

The family requests memorials be given to: Kennett First Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 St. Francis Street, Kennett, Mo., VNA Hospice, 100 E. Harrison, Kennett, Mo., and the Azalea Garden Club, 2011 St. Francis Street, Kennett, Mo.
